CBD for Anxiety

According to Mental Health Research Canada, Anxiety affects 1 in 10 people as of 2025. Making anxiety disorders the most common mental illness in Canada.

While research is still ongoing for relations between anxiety and CBD, there are some studies and numerous testimonials that suggest it may help reduce anxiety by interacting with the brain’s neurotransmitter that plays a role in mood regulation, the brain’s receptors for serotonin.

Ways CBD can help manage anxiety:

  1. Serotonin Regulation: Often referred to as the “feel-good” chemical, serotonin plays a key role in mood and emotion regulation, it is a neurotransmitter that helps transmit signals in the brain. It affects bodily functions including:
    1. Sleep
    2. Appetite
    3. Digestive Function
    4. Cognition
    5. Social Response and Behaviour
  2. Reducing Your Stress Response: Elevated heart rate and blood pressure are a physical reaction or cause of stress and some studies have shown that CBD can help reduce both physiological responses.
  3. Calming Effects: Many CBD patients report feelings of reduced tension and increased relaxation when consuming CBD, resulting in reduced overall anxiety.

While CBD benefits many, it affects everyone differently. Always check with your trusted health care provider before adding any new product to your healthcare routine.
